Celadon is known as one of San Diego's first Thai Restaurants. It originally opened on 5th ave in the early 80's, moved to University Ave from 2000-2007, and now back to 5th Ave. For over 20 years Celadon has remained one San Diego's Top Restaurants every year garnishing "Best Thai" from local and national press. Celadon is now adjusting to the times and needs of it's guest once again by now becoming Celadon Thai Kitchen and Canteen. Offering classics as well as new items, local craft beers, creative cocktails using sake and wine spirits, and a small production wine list.

Celadon Press

Celadon opened it's doors in 1981 at 3628 Fifth Ave and was San Diego's First Thai Restaurant. The rebirth of Celadon was in 1999 when Alex Thao took over the reigns and moved the famed restaurant to a more visible, high-traffic location at 540 University Ave.

There the restaurant gained not only regional notoriety but national press as the Best Thai Restaurant. After 6 years at the location with jam-packed lines out the door, Alex Thao has now secured a new location where Celadon is setting new standards in dining and nightlife in the area.
